Who we are

Lumidao is a Hong Kong-based advisory firm. Our founders have spent their careers building, financing and operating businesses and research programmes in the sectors we now advise on. We set up Lumidao as a boutique deliberately: small enough that every client works directly with the principals, and focused enough to be exceptional in a few areas rather than adequate in many.

What we believe

We believe the most valuable advice comes from combining two things that are rarely found together. The first is judgement — the kind formed by having made real decisions with real consequences. The second is evidence at a scale no individual can gather by hand. Our dual-engine model of expert insight and AI computing power exists to bring those two together on every engagement.

We also believe that clients should not have to choose between the analytical power of modern AI and the security of their information. That is why our large language models run on infrastructure we own, rather than on public cloud services.

Independence

Lumidao is privately owned and has no affiliation with any bank, fund, university, government body or technology vendor. We accept no referral fees or commissions from third parties. Our advice is paid for by our clients and answerable only to them.

Hong Kong

We are based in Hong Kong, at the meeting point of Mainland China's research and industrial base, international capital markets and a global talent pool. It is the natural home for the problems we work on.
